Thank you for considering a Maine Coon kitten from Curious Colorful Chaos Cattery. Maine Coons are affectionate, intelligent, and playful companions, and we are committed to placing each kitten in a home that aligns with their needs and long-term well-being.
To ensure a thoughtful and organized experience, we offer two pathways:
Our standard application process and an optional paid waitlist for priority access.
Option 1: Paid Waitlist (Priority Access)
For families who are ready to move forward and would like priority in kitten selection, we offer a limited paid waitlist. Due to the limited nature of our waitlist, families will have 24 hours to confirm their position once contacted. This allows us to provide a smooth, fair, and thoughtful experience for all waiting families.
How it works:
- Submit an application and receive approval
- Secure your position with a $250 non-refundable waitlist fee
- Waitlist positions are limited to 3–4 families per litter
- Selection occurs at approximately 6 weeks of age
- Families choose in order of deposit received date
Once you select your kitten:
- An additional $250 reservation deposit is required
- Total deposit becomes $500
This option is ideal for families who want a structured, priority-based experience and first access to available kittens.
Option 2: Standard Application Process
Families are always welcome to apply without joining the paid waitlist.
- Applications are reviewed carefully
- Approved families are kept on file
- If availability remains after waitlist selection, we will reach out to approved applicants

Step 1: Initial Inquiry
Submit an Application
Complete our Purchase Application so we can learn more about you, your home, and your experience.
Application Review
Each application is reviewed to ensure our kittens are placed in safe, loving, and well-prepared homes.
Step 2: Interview
Phone or Video Call
We may schedule a brief conversation to better understand your lifestyle and answer questions.
Home Evaluation (Optional)
In certain situations, we may request additional confirmation of a safe environment.
Step 3: Kitten Selection
Closed Cattery Process
As a closed cattery, we provide detailed photos, videos, and updates rather than in-person visits.
Matching Process
We guide families based on personality, structure, and overall fit.
Selection Timing
- Paid waitlist families select first at ~6 weeks of age
- Remaining availability is then offered to approved applicants
Step 4: Contract Agreement
Once a kitten is selected:
- A Kitten Contract is provided
- This outlines health guarantees, care expectations, and spay/neuter requirements
- A signed contract is required to proceed
Step 5: Deposit
Total Deposit: $500 (non-refundable)
- $250 waitlist fee (if applicable)
- $250 reservation deposit at time of selection
Payment Methods:
Zelle or Venmo
Final Balance:
Due in cash at pickup
For the security of our program, digital payments are not accepted at pickup.
Step 6: Preparing for Your Kitten
Home Setup
Prepare a calm, safe space with:
- Litter box
- Food and water dishes
- Bedding
- Toys
Veterinary Planning
Schedule a wellness visit shortly after bringing your kitten home.
Step 7: Pickup or Transport
Local Pickup (Tennessee)
We meet in safe, public locations.
Transport Options
- Ground courier
- In-cabin flight nanny
- We do not ship cargo
Starter Kit
Each kitten goes home with:
- Food, Treats
- Toys, nail clippers
- A scent blanket just to name a few items.
Step 8: Lifetime Support
Ongoing Support
We remain available for guidance after placement.
